The only place with complete set of health claims: approved, rejected, pending!
According to Regulation (EC) No. 1924/2006, a health claim is defined as any claim that states, suggests or implies that a relationship exists between a food or one of its constituents and health. Such information is not mandatory, but it should be consistent with the legal regulations in force to guarantee that the consumer is provided with reliable and scientifically verified data.
Food manufacturers printing information on the product packaging have to comply with a set of legal requirements for the use of nutrition and health claims. The relevant requirements apply to all types of product presentations (not only packaging), including television and radio advertisements, leaflets and websites.
In order to ensure that health claims are truthful, clear, reliable and useful to the consumer in choosing a healthy diet, the wording and the presentation of health claims should be taken into account in the opinion of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and in subsequent procedures.
For few years EFSA assessed claims submitted by all european countries and published more than 360 documents.
Based on those ducuments European Parliament published regulation 432/2012 with list of permitted health claims, but there are still more than 1500 claims pending for evaluation (and may be used).
